Welcome to the Heart-Stake Hotel! A truly TERRIFYING prospect of accommodation for vampires, for sure.. but not a concern for these mischievous little ghosties!
This is an original illustration drawn by me using a digital tablet in Procreate. I created it as a tongue-in-cheek anti-Valentine's Day piece - where else do all the lonely ghosts go when everyone's off on a romantic weekend?
The hotel's name is a play on the Elvis song 'Heartbreak hotel' and is visually inspired by the Grand Budapest Hotel with a vampiric twist. Because let's face it, vampires are pretty romantic, arent't they? With their beauty and love of candlelight, as well as their brooding, sensual nature.
Although their infatuations do so often end with tragedy and a stake through the heart...
